The Age-Friendly Communities Collaborative exists to ensure communities are livable for all ages.
With over 50 municipal members, the Collaborative works to set a comprehensive agenda that supports the flourishing of elderly livelihoods according to the AARP’s 8 Domains of Livability. Our membership consists of regional mayors and representatives who provide leadership, build interjurisdictional capacity, and advance new legislation for inclusive communities toward residents of all ages.
Our Shared Action Agenda
Our Collaborative has pledged to develop policies and services which will facilitate regional transformation along age-friendly guidelines, while also acknowledging that there is no “one size fits all” solution to any shared policy priority. The AFCC Action Agenda was established through discussion among our municipal leaders, resulting in a shared set of goals involving Housing, Transportation, Human Services/Health, Community Engagement/Programming and Safety.
