November 2, 2026 — The Caucus' lovable recycling mascot, Loop, has smashed expectations earning an impressive 66.5 million media impressions in the Chicago metro region in his first year. Now he's looking to wheel his way into the hearts of residents across the state!
Illinois State Sen. Julie Morrison (D-Lake Forest) and State Rep. Joyce Mason (D-Grayslake) have introduced Senate and House resolutions, respectively, to declare Loop the Cart the statewide recycling mascot during the General Assembly's Veto Session. Loop and the Chicago Regional Recycling Education & Outreach partners will join Representative Mason and Senator Morrison at a press conference at the Capitol to announce the resolution on November 18th. The event will also honor Loop's first birthday and America Recycles Day (November 15th).
