Help Shape the Future of the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus Region
Are you a dynamic leader, strategic thinker, and exceptional communicator with experience in housing, community development, planning, or a related field? Are you ready to make a meaningful impact across the Chicago metropolitan region?
The Metropolitan Mayors Caucus is seeking an experienced and collaborative Manager of Housing and Community Development Initiatives to lead a key program area and help advance initiatives to strengthen communities throughout the region.
In this pivotal role, you will provide strategic leadership for the Housing & Community Development Program Area, overseeing its day-to-day operations, organizational development, financial management, and effective delivery of programs and services. You will work with municipal leaders, community partners, and regional stakeholders to address housing and community development priorities and strengthen the foundation that supports thriving, resilient communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction, leadership, and oversight for the Housing & Community Development Program area.
- Lead program planning, implementation, administration, and evaluation.
- Manage program finances, budgets, and resources to ensure effective and responsible operations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with mayors, municipal officials, community organizations, and regional partners.
- Identify emerging housing and community development needs and develop collaborative strategies to address them.
- Represent the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus at meetings, convenings, and other regional and community forums.
- Prepare and deliver clear, compelling written materials, presentations, reports, and communications for diverse audiences.
- Supervise and support staff while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
- Help advance initiatives to strengthen housing opportunities, community infrastructure, services, and overall regional quality of life.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is a strategic, collaborative, and results-oriented leader who understands the opportunities and challenges facing communities across the Chicago metropolitan region. Candidates should bring relevant professional experience in housing, community development, urban or regional planning, public policy, or a related field, along with strong leadership, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
