The Metropolitan Mayors Caucus and Planning/Aging are pleased to announce that applications are now open for our Aging in a Changing Region program

The Aging in a Changing Region program builds intersectional linkages between municipalities, their physical environment, human resources and elected leadership, aging network stakeholders, and planning and community development partners, in support of municipality-specific Aging-in-Community strategies.  At the core of the Aging in a Changing Region’s community engagements are public workshops where community residents share their lived experiences and ideas in open facilitated discussions.

The Aging in a Changing Region team is committed to expanding the Aging-in-Community practice to a diverse set of communities – diverse in their geography, their demographic and socioeconomic character, their community type, and their level of previous involvement with Aging-in-Community – and we are proud to have worked with these municipalities:

  • 2021 Cohort: Bensenville, Calumet City, Hawthorn Woods, Mount Prospect, and Park Forest.
  • 2022 Cohort: Bellwood/Broadview (participated jointly), Highland Park, Maywood, Richton Park, and Yorkville.
  • If your community would like to participate in the 2023 cohort, please fill out the Aging in a Changing Region Workshop Application by Friday, March 17th.
