Thanks to a grant award from the Office of the Illinois Secretary of State, the Caucus is proud to announce its Complete The Count program to help municipalities achieve the most complete and accurate count of their residents. Local and regional grant programs depend on it.
Many things have changed since the last Census count. New Asian, Hispanic, and Eastern European enclaves have grown in communities across the region. The population has grown older. Broadband access has increased for most households, but not everywhere. As the Census format changes and partially moves online, it will be harder to reach certain hard-to-count populations to participate.
Complete The Count 2020 is intended to help municipalities manage their Complete Count Committees for next year’s Census. The Caucus will develop a peer-to-peer sharing network for municipalities managing their CCCs; track best practices for CCCs to help other municipalities follow their lead; organize three Ideas Exchanges in the northern, southern, and western suburbs; and help local governments secure state resources to increase participation.
