Since it was first established in 1997, the Caucus has tackled vital issues that impact the quality of life of everyone who lives in our six-county region. We’ve witnessed five years of hard work and important successes, including improvements in electric service reliability, funding for cleaner air, the creation of a statewide economic development plan, investment in the region’s roads and other public infrastructure, plans to protect the region’s critical utilities, including electricity, natural gas and water, plus the adoption of a housing agenda .
At the Caucus, we’ve tackled a lot, but even more remains to be discussed and done as part of our extensive “to do” list. The following is a summary of key issues and activities the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus has worked on since its inception. It includes our successes, several vital issues we’re dealing with right now, and our plans for the future.
