Event Host and Background
The event is the fourth City-to-City event hosted by the International Urban Cooperation IUC program, which aims to bring together cities to share solutions to common problems. It is part of a long-term strategy by the European Union to foster sustainable urban development in cooperation with both the public and private sectors. Funded by the European Union, the International Urban Cooperation (IUC) program activities support the achievement of bipartisan policy objectives and major international agreements on urban development and climate change, such as the Urban Agenda, the Sustainable Development Goals, and the Paris Agreement.
The IUC has encouraged and supported the Caucus’ first climate action plan for the Chicago region, which is coming soon.
