Dear Local Government Leaders and Municipal Partners:
Please join us for the 2020 Municipal Census Ideas Exchange. The 2020 Census is quickly approaching. A complete count ensures that local governments receive an accurate share of federal and state resources. However, much has changed since the 2010 Census. Some communities have become more diverse. The region has grown older. And a new electronic Census format means that some residents may need additional reminders to participate.
The Municipal Ideas Exchange is intended to help municipalities and their CCCs prepare for the 2020 Census. The Exchange will educate on the importance of a complete, accurate and equitable count as well offer municipalities specific steps that can be taken through their CCCs to reach the hardest-to-count residents. The Exchange will include experts in Census data and tabulation that include the Census Bureau, the newly formed Illinois Census Office, and Forefront. The Exchange will also include panels of partners that can provide guidance on how to reach certain HTC populations and how to work with other local institutions on a complete count. Come learn, network, and deliberate with your peers to ensure that all of your residents are encouraged to participate.
