On October 13th the Illinois Department of Health Services announced the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus as one of 30 Regional Intermediaries for the state. MMC was awarded 1.3 million to sub allocate to various municipal entities to educate and encourage census participation. If your municipality/governmental organization is interested in receiving grant funding for census related efforts please see our pre-application portal.

The purpose of this grant is to encourage participation in the 2020 census among the hardest-to-count groups. The grant awarded to the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus has a primary focus on municipal governments and their partnering Complete Count Committees. This funding hopes to augment frontline organization’s efforts, specifically those working with hard to count groups.

Grantee Pre-Application Requirements:

In order to join the pre-approval applicant pool, your municipality/organization will need to meet the following requirements.

  1. Obtain Grant Accountability Transparency Act (GATA) Compliancy
  2. Complete Internal Controls Questionnaire
  3. Complete Programmatic Risk Assessment
